about us

Sometimes if we look carefully we can see our future by looking at our past. Chefs remember family meals. Musicians remember songs of grandparents. Athletes remember catch with their dads (or moms). I remember all of these as well, but that which impacted me most was my moms never ending collection of animals. Not just cats and dogs but rabbits, goats, chickens and at one time even a donkey. And no, we didn’t live on a farm. Although I may not have known it at the time this initial contact with animals sparked within me the desire to serve and to help. Animals, especially the domesticated variety, rely on us for protection, sustenance and love.

One of the things that came from this is how many lost pets have either followed me or stopped my little all electric I-MiEV in the hopes that I might help them find their way home. It doesn’t matter how busy I am; I always take the time to call their owners or knock on doors in order to make sure that I don’t disappoint them in their time of need. It astounds me and has given me the most joy. I believe it’s a gift, maybe my most precious gift.

Currently I live with a very adventurous 11-year-old Siamese cat named BoB, a headstrong deaf 10-year-old Cockapoo named Chuck, a 3-year-old German Shepherd named Bob, and a 19-year-old Lhasa Apso who is our fun police named Frankie. Let's not forget my husband Kevin who allows me to share my love of pets and keeps these guys secure at home.

Yes, I’m a pet sitter but more importantly, I’m a professional pet sitter. This is my career, it’s not a hobby and I’m not the neighborhood kid trying to make a couple of bucks for Friday night. I treat your pets as if they were my pets and I treat your home as if it were my home. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for your pet that I wouldn’t do for my own. In 2006, I found an ad for a pet sitting job. I thought this would be a great part time job. Again, not knowing it at the time, I found my true life’s work. All the pieces just fell into place with this one job. I didn’t know it then, but I know it now - this is who I am and who I was meant to be.

We are a team of like-minded sitters who continue to learn the best ways to help clients and pets through reading and local or online classes. We have loving clients and often they call on us for advice and we want to be able to help and direct them to science based methods and knowledge for training and behavioral issues. I continue to educate myself to be an advocate for our pets. I attended Victoria Stillwell Academy of Dog Training to further my understanding and compassion. I am continuing to take courses from welcoming puppies into a new home to becoming an end of life doula for compainion animals.

We volunteer and donate to local organizations that include Our Giving Garden(pet pantry) , LifeLine Animal Project and Act2pups .

By the way, Barnum and Barbara are saying good things about the new walker. Thanks, it’s so nice that I can depend on you always having such good people.
